designer's own words:

Fusion is a smart concept for a more sustainable fridge - a fusion of function, grace and innovation.

Its not just a random fridge, a white box fulfilling its functions – it is more a nice piece of furniture fitting in more environments than the kitchen. Fusion3 includes some space for books, accessories etc. as well as freezing sections for the food.

Furthermore this fridge is extremely innovative and environmentally friendly.
Instead of using a energy-intensive compressors, toxic gases and heating coils fusion3 contains an innovative material to cool the sections from inside: Ferroelectric polarpolymers is a according to publishes in 2008 from the Pennsylvania State University a material cooling by introducing electricity causing the usually disordered molecules of the polarpolymer to become highly ordered. As this happens, heat is dispersed and the material grows cold. When the electricity is switched off this process reverses itself.

On the top there is included a traditional cooling system working without any electricity which can be used especially in summer: after having filled water in the hollow section through a small hole on the top the water vaporizes through material made of ceramics. The vaporisation causes a cooler temperature inside to cool for example fruits and vegetables.

All Parts can be switched on and off individually to use the space efficiently if there is a need for more/less space to cool food.
