This handle speaks a success story about Italian design.Time comes with changes and changes comes with challenges. This story speaks about shapes and materials: we remember about the past, rigid shapes, straight lines and strong forms. Across the years, theese shapes were transforming in to aerodynamic lines, plenty of curves and better, beautiful surfaces. On the other side, the materials have changed as well. But the old and great Murano glass still remains like the 7th century design. It represents the art and, craft of unique Venice. One material that has changed is magnesium, for example. The technology makes it a beautiful black and shiny strong metal. Since magnesium is less dense than aluminum, these alloys are prized for their relative lightness and strength. But it can be replaced with iron or aluminum or stainless steel. With all this success stories I created here a new challenge has appeared: to come together and recover the past to create something great for the future. I combined the old shapes with new material and new shapes with old material and the final result is four different things bringing to life one ordinary useful thing, the handle.
