designer's own words:
Normally, in most door lever handles, you can recognize two completely different parts: the "rose" that covers the hole on the door and the "lever handle" itself.
But why it has to be like this? Why do they have to be two recognizable different parts?
I thought this fact could become a completely new approach for door handles design, so I wanted to create a door handle fusing the shape of this two parts to make them look just like one.
In my design, the "rose" and the "lever handle" are still being used as separated components, since I tried to stay as close as possible to traditional handle installation systems. However, you can observe a logical transition between the two parts.
In this sense, the shape ended being simple, rational and even familiar, but at the same time, different from any door handle known.
I think the handle has an atemporal design and tries to stay away from any specific trend, which makes it suitable for different environments and lifestyles. The design is also suitable for creating the rest of the family products.
Finally, I introduced colour as a way of making handles warmer and more playful. In times of economic crisis and low emotional courage, I think it is better to avoid cold and serious looking materials and finishings, like stainless steel or aluminium.
