FlamePuller by Hung-Ming from taiwan
designer's own words:
"Fire is an existential necessity. However, nowadays people have long forgot how to create a fire themselves, and when in the wilderness or facing emergency situations, they are unable to create fire even when flammable agents are accessible. Outdoor survival experts rely heavily on this crucial skill. Yet, during poor weather conditions, creating fire can be a difficult task even for those with experience.
During natural disasters, relief supplies have to be distributed to disaster zones. With small and lightweight packaging, this solution is the most effective means for boiling water. Each unit can bring one liter of water to a boil and provide even higher levels of heat energy when many units are used together.
"
This work combines simple waterproof paper packaging, fuel blocks and a pull-type fuse to create a fast fire-lighting tool. The flames from the kindled fuel blocks will burn for several minutes, which is enough time for beginners to ignite firewood. The interlaced packaging helps reduce the overall dimensions so it can be conveniently carried outdoors. The small handle is great for pulling and prevents one’s hands from being burnt.
