Gas hobs have always been frustrating to operate and difficult to clean. The Fingers hob design aims to make cooking using a gas hob a more pleasurable experience. The concept design uses touch sensitive technology to control the hobs and its controls are laid out in an intuitive manor. The surface is formed by deep drawing Keraflex porcelain foil and then supported by phenolic foam. The appearance model was sponsored by The Hothouse (A design centre for the ceramics industry) and has received commercial interest from the British Design Initiative.
