Fifty/Fifty is a half metal/ half cork door handle. It’s half cold/ half warm and soft, half rectangular/half elliptical. All these dualities make it an artifact worth touching. In the same handle one’s hand experiences distinction.
The design underlines the difference in the choice of materials; the forms of the metal are rectangular, contrasting with the oval form of the cork part.
Fifty/Fifty follows Colombo Design’s “Green Made Time” philosophy.
Cork can assume almost any form and thickness, this versatility makes the production/manufacturing process possible and cheap.
We believe that this eco-friendly product is also a powerful marketing tool. The Reason? - It’s both new and sustainable. In that sense, the use of cork, in the making of door handles, can be a way for Colombo Design to succeed in its environmental and economical goals.
