Light is a crucial element of green building design. Appropriate use of both daylight and electric light can achieve the functionality and aesthetic of the building, enhance the experience of the space, as well as lead people to energy sufficient living.
This project attempts to utilize light to reveal an architectural materiality that will transform and empower the University of Washington light rail station, and make use of the striking character of light to reflect the transportation building with the features of connection, transition and dynamism.
