designer's own words:
Siegfried is a transformable cushion-furniture-light-piece, that can be transformed by three-dimensional folding in different furnitures: a couch – for chill out with friends, a chaise-lounge for chill out alone, a mattress – to relax with your boy- or girlfriend, a paravent – in case of shyness, a column – in case of just light, a seat – in case of grand ma is coming and a bunch of more forms however you will use it, whatever you will need. The object consists of nine cuboids made of rubberfoam (10cm x 38cm x 38cm). The sitting plains of each piece are covered with white artificial leather. Three narrow plains are covered with white imitated patent leather. The forth side hides the light source (with integrated light-tubes) by a polyester fabric. The cuboids are fixed on two edges with the next pieces. Siegfried is designed very rugged so that an experimental and playful handling – like a pillow-fight - becomes possible. It should be turned, twisted, lifted and pushed. Depending on the folding action nearly each form bears two different light-variations. For example the chaise – lounge can be lighted just on the backside or only on the front-side. So Siegfried can change the form and the lighting-mood to assimilate the different needs and moods of the young users.
