the idea I settled upon for this project was to have a doorhandle that mimicked the sense of a draping curtain. I wanted to evoke a relaxed sense of movement, in an effect that is not typical. the handle isn't a solid, bulky item, but rather a thin metal 'wave' of sorts. the form of the handle creates the necessary size and feeling of mass which is then comfortable to hold and operate in both directions, and the undulations of the form are active in all three dimensions to assist in providing strength to the handle.
