DOT SCAPE

Behavior of people, small whirlwind made by the opening door, waves of crowd-
’Motion’; changes the shape of the air constantly, becoming thin or thick, rising or sinking dynamicly. The sence we feel when we enter the room is always influenced by this shape of the air.

We designed a device to visualize this sence.
The mechanism is simple. We placed spheres filled with different amount of helium gas, connected together with a string. When air is compressed, strings lessen the tension and the device shrinks. The motion is influenced from end to end of the room by the chain of power.

We prepared three patterns for different space and motion. 1_Horizontal scape 2_Vertical scape 3_Massive scape We have two movies that shows the Horizontal scape as case study.
