doors to narnia

doors to narnia by adam nakonieczny from poland

designer's own words:

The doors to the modern-day paradise come equipped with a fingerprint
scanner and a microcamera. But before we go in we have to ask ourselves
whether today's version of paradise is even worth the journey.

The proposed prototype includes neither lock nor knob or handle, which
stand for common sense, because common sense can only lead to
alienation. We feel, as we open this door, as if we were reaching
beyond the bark of a tree or sneaking under the peel of a fruit. We
think that Narnia awaits and we're right.

As far as production specs go, skateboard technology is sufficient. The
surface design is left up to the user/owner. (Stickers available
separately.) The scheme featured in the enclosed prototype is just one
visual interpretation, devised to convey the impression that Aslan
awaits on the other side (though of course there's only a dimly lit
hallway).
