don’t be square by from
designer's own words:
“Don’t be square” is a bedroom furniture with curve lines. It is composed by a bed, a night table, a desk, a wardrobe, a 3 drawer dresser and some shelves.
The bed (? 110 x 206 x 80 cm) is simple the only particularity are the tops that are rounded. The night table (? 40 x 30 x 50 cm) has curved legs and a small drawer for personal items.
When teenagers study generally they need space. Because of that the desk top is large and in one of the legs has a shelve to put a CPU box (desk dimensions: ? 150 x 76 x 70 cm).
It was designed three types of shelves: one for dvd’s and cd’s, and two for books or other items. The shelves are to be hanged.
The wardrobe (? 100 x 51 x 200 cm) is also slightly curved and is dived in two in order to allow a bigger storing space; it also has two drawers and the wardrobe doors are curved.
It was also designed a 3 drawer dresser (? 120 x 40 x 70 cm).
It is presented two colour combinations for the furniture, for boys it was chosen the blue and the orange and for girls the pink and a pale yellow but, other colour combinations can be chosen.
Knowing that teenagers are sensible to the environment questions is suggested that ShetkaStone is used to produce this furniture. ShetkaStone (see http://www.shetkastone.com) is a non-toxic process that takes fibers (paper, plant or cloth) and turns them into high quality work surfaces that are marble-like, durable, scratch resistant, stain resistant, water resistant, class A fire rated, and 100% sustainable.
