the idea is to bring out a bit of the functionality and integrate it in the shape of the door handle. that is why the cross bore is going all the way out to the handle. the focus is also on the materials and to really bring them out by framing them with the white painted metal. all and all dh1 is a handle that sticks out in more then one way.
