The DeKFactor concept is about water, fire, and air in the kitchen.
DeKFactor starts from the aim of to meet common needs of the normal day living where the space dedicated to the kitchen can be limited, so integration and efficient use of space can impact in the quality of the life.
The food experience – preparation, creation - can be enriched thanks to a compact kitchen platform where electronics and new materials allow to design the physical presence of the functions - cleaning, washing, cooking and storage – with an enlarged approach.
The system can fit many scenarios: from narrow space to big kitchen; wall mounted, floor standing, island.
DKF has been created from a continuous surface that smoothly follow the function that has to be executed on it.
Sink, pan, dishwasher can be seen as functional container – water fire air – so they became just a bowl part of the surface’s continuum.
The bowl can be used as sink – cleaning and washing up – with the water coming from the circular pattern of holes and down from a double purpose waste that distribute also water.
In the bows is possible to cook and so it can be used as pan with many advantage: safety, water distribution – in and out (it is a pan with water and waste), the possibility to control differentiated heated bowl area, to program the water management, air suction from the above holes circular pattern working as hood.
The pan once finished consumption normally goes into the dishwasher but in this scenario the pan has already the water and the waste so again the bowl is the dishwasher, it can contain everything that usually goes in the dishwasher with a better use of resources: the system start from a module with three bowls that can be used separately.
The food preparation area is equipped with: scale, pull-out fitting with drinkable water, plugs and aromatic plants.
The system focus also the attention to the needs of disables both in term of interface and accessibility: with a clear and visible panel control and the possibility to extract or to slide the two storage/fridge modules creating the necessary space for wheelchair access.
