Context:
More and more people want to be cremated after their death or buried anonymously. The relatives often have no location where they can be to commemorate the deceased. The modular urn “Cycle” wants to remedy this.
Concept:
The bottom part of the urn contains the ash capsule and will be used for the burial. The upper part, however, can be installed by the next of kin to any location. This can be either a grave on the graveyard or the garden of a relative. The top part is an innovative combination of memorial object and water dispenser for animals such as birds, butterflies and insects. The object should be a beautiful memorial spot for the families and should remember them at the same time to the cycle of life and make them happy. Therefore “Cycle” stands for both life and transience.
Design:
The design of the top part, which is both resting place for animals and handle, is similar to the appearance of a sprouting plant and symbolizes that life goes on.
Materials:
The urn consists of porcelain, the upper part and the screw-on base are made of cast iron.
