Curiosity doors

Curiosity doors by annick collins from uk

designer's own words:

This design looks at the secret lives of doors. It comes from the idea of the door function of absorbing sound and the idea of holding history. If only houses could speak, what a story they would have to tell.

Doors are used for privacy and they stops sounds transmitting from one room to the next, also they are about a change of state. These doors are curious; they listen to the sounds in the house and record randomly, when someone interacts with the door or if there is a sound near the door. They absorb the sound into the door holding a history of sounds.

Yet doors are also about people listening and eaves dropping when they are being curious or nosey.

These doors are interactive. Within the door there is recording device. This will record at different unknown times what is happening, when activated by use or sound for a short period of time.
At the same time you can listen to the history or events that were recorded by eaves dropping by the door. By pressing on the listening pads, which act as a button, you can hear the sounds that have been recorded.

So if you are curious go and listen at the curiosity doors.
