Re-imagining: A New Cove Lighting Design

The OLED Film is truly an amazing pieces of light emitting material as it is both flexible and is able to emit homogeneous lighting throughout its surface. Previously, with conventional lighting equipment, it is very difficult and bulky to achieve a homogeneous lighting surface (think like boxes with fluorescent tubes). Even with the advent of LED lighting, it is still difficult to recreate the thinness and flexibility that OLED Film is able to provide.

While thinking of the unique characteristics of OLED films, it let to the re-imagination of how a recessed lighting will be with such a flat and versatile lighting material. With it we are able to create Corlighting, a new lighting fixture to bring a smoothing and warm ambient lighting to brighten up your living spaces, without the hassle of building false ceiling or recessed boxes in the wall to house the lighting equipment.

Using Corlighting could potentially help to increase the usable floor area while enhancing the atmosphere and quality of the living space.

The Wall Unit will determine the shape and outlook of Corlighting.
Should a Corner Wall Unit be used to house the OLED Film Unit, the resulting effect will be that of a curved surface which simulates the lighting effect of a cove lighting. While a Flat Wall Unit, which runs parallel to the surface of the wall, will result in a simulated recessed lighting effect.
