Identity, personal space, crisis, hormones, new experiences, rebelling, play, cliques ... this is teen life. In response to the chaotic teen life, {comma} couch, creates an environment that allows for private and public space. It responds to the teen within a metamorphosis between youth and adult life. Often withdrawn into their own world {comma} is designed around the teen "mallrat" who wants to hang with their clique of friends and still "avoid those annoying adults."

Its every teen for themselves... and private space is at premium in the busy adult world. A high back allows for privacy (ipodding, gossipping, and more) while the peep-hole offers a chance to observe the outside world without the potential for dangerous interactions.

From the enclosed couch area to the inclined chase open to the public {comma} mimics the development of the teenager from developing child to grown adult.
