designer's own words:
A revolutionary new form of lighting technology, needs an equally innovative fixture to house it. LG Display’s OLED lights has opened up new possibilities of the way we interact with light. Some of the most striking features of the OLED are the flexibility, the thinness of the structure, and the super-light weight. The CLIP lamp embodies and strengths these core concepts to form a unified fixture.
Clip is extremely thin and minimal. The lamp is stripped down to only two elements: the OLED and the fixture. The fixture is formed through bending a continuous 19 mm thick metal pipe; the resulting shape acts as both the base and the frame which holds the OLED. The minimal approach complements and further showcases the OLED’s thinness and light weight.
Clip is deceptively simple. However, it is extremely versatile once you begin to interact with it. Integrated seamlessly into a section of the bent pipe is an adjustable arm. This arm allows the fixture to rotate up and down, and at all angles. Also, the OLED can slide to any position along the frame that wraps around it. Clip is completely flexible and can adjust to any environment.
Clip is an embodiment of the core ideas of LG Display’s OLED lights. Both the fixture and light complement each other to create a stronger whole.
