city cycle concept by christian vollmer from germany
designer's own words:
city cycle concept
Ninety percent of the daily urban distances are about 6 to 10km short and there for often quicker by bike then by car or tram as short cuts and a straight door - to - door connection create an enormous time profit.
New technologies such as the Pedelec System also gives you the chance of a quick ride with eas and without sweating even though you are not a perfectly trained cyclist.
With the wish for clean urban mobility the cycle and the electric cycle of course get a new kind of attention. But it is not done by putting an electric engine into a trekking bike nor by designing a space machine just to fit the "future like electric theme". It needs a careful development based on urban lifestyle and usability as the commuter does not necessarily want to be a cyclist. it´s not about cycling it´s about getting from A to B in a comfortable, reliable way without looking like a sports geek.
The shown bike is a concept to display the differences between commuting and racing.
The integrative design creates a clean visual appearance and also protects the technic from vandalism and destruction of inner city influences.
(of course it is also possible to put on bags and fenders as seen on the small pic. individual )
