Ciottolo by isadora koike from brazil
designer's own words:
ciottolo is the italian name for the river rocks which are moulded through the water flow. Trhough the rocks forms i've intended to exercise opening doors by a natural sculpted element. to contrast the natural aspect i've found interesting working with silicon, an artificial and recent discovered material. the ergonomic aspect of the handle is also purposing an unusual way of holding. the tradicional square angle between the handle and the handle neck was summed up to a 45 degree position of the product on the door. the position as well as the lack of the door suport piece is reinforcing the natural rock diposal on its enviroment. the handling was studied and adjusted through a clay model. the 3d models have been altered several times in order to fit the most confortable handle.
