cilindrica by sara fumero from italy
designer's own words:
cilindrica was born from the will to design a doorhandle characterized by an essential shape and by the highest functionality.
the project is based on the analysis of three different kind of users’ needs:
- adult people;
- disabled people on wheechair;
- children.
cilindrica reaches its target by translating the handle lower and by reducing the needed stress to operate the handle thanks to the extension of the lever arm.
the shape is determined by recognizing an essential structure and by realizing it through elementary and geometric shapes which cross together.
the materials chosen are stainless steel for the structure and satinized steel for the handle.
the first one is strong and durable and easily serviced and cleaned.
the second one as well as having the same features of stainless steel, is also user-friendly because it isn't slippery, it's not cold at the sight and it's easy to handle.
moreover, both stainless steel and satinized steel, also thanks to the extremely simple and essential shape, are easily adaptable to every furnishing style: modern as well as classic or country.
