chakasui by karl baxter from australia
designer's own words:
The aim of chakasui is to beautify the objects it associates with, be it the "plinth" or the object(s) it surrounds. The removal of the base from its bowl like form creates an intimacy with the object it sits on as the two materials merge to one. This extends to objects placed within the space created, and is enhanced by the reflected images of that object on chakasui's walls. The fluidity of silver is enhanced with the voluptuous low form, creating a piece of striking tableware that has beauty on its own, but moreover, gives beauty to the objects around and within.
