People have their own unique characters. Unfortunately, they need to do many boring jobs during the day. At night, they will find some places to release their depressive side. There should be a place for them to be what they are and do what they love to do. Will it be home? No. They will not stay at home because they want to meet friends, chat with them, share their beliefs and get relaxed at the same time. They need a characteristic “Cave”.

Beck’s outlet will provide what they need.
In my design, the space will be underground. Many small caves are excavated. Each cave uses different materials and colors to represent different characters. Comfortable couches (one to four-seated) are there for people to get themselves beer and be very comfortable. People can squeeze into the cave they like, chat with friends and enjoy the beer.

The height of the cave is set at 150cm. When people stand up, their heads are over the wall. Therefore, they can enjoy the spacious feeling and relaxing mood in the outlet when they get bored of sitting. They see other people’s faces. They can talk to each other and make new friends. When they sit down on the sofa, they are surrounded by the cave. It is just like a mother’s womb which is totally private and relaxing without any disturbances. So we can call the upper part of the outlet a socializing space, and the lower part a private cave.

Beck’s outlet can also be an exhibition centre for all artists. Representative artwork will sit on top of the caves during a usual function. When it comes to show-time, a set of customized bridges will come down from the roof, fill up the gaps among caves and seal up the caves’ edges. It turns into a catwalk bridge which cooperates with a back stage. The outlet now becomes a stage to present modern fashion shows. Audiences can stay in their own cave, sit on the sofa and enjoy the great show. Remarkable functions in the Beck’s outlet are always provided to customers for relaxation, joys and lots of fun.
