Catcher!

The purpose of this product is to generate the interaction among people, light, and insects. The light from 'catcher' creates a positive relationship between people and insects such as moth or tiny flies, which have not been welcome in our daily lives. Although the light of 'Catcher!' has a quirky and different angle from common lighting, 'Catcher!' borrows the visual language in its shape from the ordinary shade lamp to adapt to our life-style in a friendly way.

The lighting has a split line in the middle, which guides users to behave in a certain way to operate it. Once the user pulls the handles, which is located at the bottom, to opposite sides with both hands, the bright light comes from the split part and attracts insects by blue UV LEDs. After insects gather around the light, people can catch and let them go by opening and shutting 'Catcher!'.
