designer's own words:
design - the concept started with the idea of having an external hard shell with an interesting interior revealed by a dynamic stroke. thus the form is fairly regular till the cut is introduced. inside the cut we have the core - the form of the core appears as if it was always there nesting inside the hard shell
development - various forms were tried with different angles and cuts. the rose plate consists of two parts - the metal component and the wood/ lacquered component inside. for easy manufacturing this core can be anodised aluminum with different finishes.
selling point - the various customisable options available. the handle has the ability of vanishing on the door at the same time retaining its distinct identity. the colourful lacquer options also lend it a sense of playfulness
