box, x

box, x by David Getty from usa

designer's own words:

my dad (goose) would always bic pen square boxes on paper. all boxes were in the neighborhood of 1/4"x1/4" much like that of any grid notebook. he then would proceed to put an "x" in the box. sometimes it would be an immediate response to the open box, other times he would draw multiple boxes in random configurations and then "x" them all. once checked the game (drawing) could continue. he could do this for 10 seconds or even longer periods of time. this habitual exercise of putting pen to paper was not out of boredom, it was a gauge that measured the extent of his thought. my dad's box,x is the framework for our submission. from these 6 lines one can create all the letters of moleskinerie. alone it supports the "m" within the simple framework.
it is a nod to my dad who received his first moleskine on his birthday last year.
