Bowl A zampa

Bowl A zampa by giacomo moor from italy

designer's own words:

Bowl A zampa - Carved with the fire
A common drill, a tool used in other type of workings, becomes media in order to carve a hardest stump of olive wood. The cylindrical form of the tip of the drill leaves its print on the walls of the bowl. The outside comes removed with the chisel. The final finish with a gas blow torch gives to the object a intense black color. The resin with which it is covered, helps to eliminate the rests of soot and confers a lucid finish that seems to transform the wood in pitch.
