Beck´s Tube
Beck´s Tube is a worldwide urban concept. The origin of the name is the London Underground, popularly known as the Tube. Usually subway stations are quite stressful places, where people in a hurry try to catch their trains. But in recent years, public and other highly frequented places like subway stations became more and more popular as partying or event locations. We were intrigued by such special locations and came to thinking about new Beck’s Bars as an interpretation of an underground station. The tubelike area is fitted with brushed steel tiles reflecting the surroundings. On both sides of the tunnel there are small cavern-like rooms. These caverns can be used in many different ways. For the daily gastronomic service, as a cosy lounging area, a dj’s place or as an exhibition showroom.
The bar-counter is placed in the center of the tube. It is a freestanding counter, with people just hanging around, meeting one another or socializing. On the backwall of the room pictures and movies, made of abstract trademark- and beer motives are projected.
As a worldwide concept Beck´s Tube is linked to other branches all over the world. For that reason a map showing the worldwide branches was created. The map is designed like an ordinary railroad map and is an essential part of the corporate design. This network-idea is also used with other communication tools, like video monitors showing a tube´s nightlife simultaneously on the other side of the world.---------GfG/Gastronomieplanungs GmbH is a group of young designers and creative individuals who develop concepts for bars, clubs and restaurants.
