designer's own words:

Looking into a very special property of this amazing leaf. If you look at the lotus leaf with your visible eyes, it just looks like any other leaf. Its nice green with waxy out layers, but with one respect this leaf is unique. The lotus leaf just doesn’t get dirty. Nothing can stick to its surface, water just rolls off and takes any dirt with it. The secret lie in its astonishing self cleaning act which lies far beyond our normal vision. When you increase the magnification, you can see how intercut nature’s design really is. The peaks in the leaf are themselves covered with millions of tiny fingers, only visible with thousand times magnification.
The lotus leaf keeps water droplets suspended above its surface. Less than 1% of the water actually touches the leaf. Its natural self cleaning ability inspired me.

The same property can be used in fiber, glass, plastic, fabric, pipe etc. I concentrated over glass and fabric which is mostly used in sports equipment. The design includes heavy formation of nodes and branches in a very systematic way which can deliver the exact same smoothness or transparency to glass or fabric.

The manufacturing and production would include slight deviation of machinery used, development of the new technique, use of chemicals to for a branched kind of structure etc. It is believed that it will create a blue ocean strategy for itself and disrupt many markets.

In the field of sport, clothes needs to be cleaned a lot, and sometimes the stains are so strong that it cannot be easily erased. The sweat also decreases the quality of the cloth depending on the fabric used. We will find in near future that we will have T-Shirts and Glasses which wont require any cleaning. People taking bath with their clothes on. Cars with no wipers. This technology can revolutionize the era.
