The project is called in Spanish: Alma,which in English means Soul. Alma, which consists of a slightly updated traditional Kimono, mostly in the cut and design of the sleeves. In comparison with the traditional Kimono which the length of the sleeves describes in a visual way, the civil status of the woman who wears it; Alma is a combination of both, not as long as a single woman or short as a married woman would wear it. This change is in between, because more that reflecting the social and civil status of the wearer; the purpose is merely aesthetic and intended as well, to move aside the stereotypes of the society towards the women. The Graphic intention is to visually talk about the meaning of life and the energy that life itself creates within the woman’s body. We wanted to go beyond the common patterns related to nature, and what surrounds us used in the traditional Kimono and graphically Express what’s in the woman's body, that energy of life that cant be perceived by our eyes.
