allure waist adornment by srishtig from india

This project was done as a part a class room project at NID. The inspiration of the jewelry comes from the accentuating moves of a belly dancer. Words like rhythm, movement, enhancing and sensual are synonymous to them. The concept of the adornment was developed around these words. Exploring with materials to create movement and attract attention was a major key area that has been looked into. After exploring these techniques, a form was generated. Contrasting brass finishes are used to amplify the movement when light falls on the adornment. Movement of the suspended brass wire creates the drama so closely associated with belly dancers.
