For thousands of years fire has been the element used by our ancestors to obtain light, until the electricity replaced it. Fire was [and is] a very valued element that had to be protected, take car of it, share, to fuss over… a lively element that’s why the human has had a close relationship with it.

How can we to recover the relationship between light and people?

Allumette is a versatile lighting unit, personal and portable, that creates a more emotional relationship between them. To achieve that, it has been worked on the “gestuality” [ritual] of turning on and of, taking a match as a reference [for it’s similarity with a LED]. Allumette creates a more active, conscious and immersive interaction between the subject and the object.
