Aero

Aero by gabriele torchiani from italy

designer's own words:

Last sunday I was at work, trying to figure out how to escape that place and I took a peek at Designboom and saw your competition. I started playing with cardboard and scissor. Finally i come up mentally decomposing a handle into a mechanical aspect and a gesture. I tought the mechanical aspect to remain untouched and focus on the latter. The gesture should take into account at least two opposite surface to grasp and so I cut a string of cardboard and enveloped it around a glue stick that served as fulcrum. Then I realized that my object could be empty and still functional. So i reinforced it with adhesive tape and I stalked all my co-workers asking how the felt about it. Their positive response encouraged me to continue developing the idea. The object is meant to be produced with molding technique and subsequently finished. I choose the title aero because explain well the absence of solid matter.
