designer's own words:

AERO is a blood pressure meter for your wrist.
The data are shown on an OLED-display, which looks like an analog manometer.
A small air pocket on top side of the housing is inflating during measuring and helps the user to see and understand the progress of measuring. It is also used as power button of the device.
Energy supply is provided by USB connection to laptop | PC, the usage of batteries is therefore redundant.
Small high-performance components like an OLED-display make AERO more energy-efficient than similar devices.
The concept shall be realized in recyclable or allready recycled materials.
Upper and lower housing are made of PLA, a biopolymer based on cornstarch.
The two air chambers are out of Hytrel® by DuPont, a biological harmless elastomer.
