A'cross Handle door by bouyer sylvain from france
designer's own words:
a'cross play with the lightness of aluminum foil folded, apertured, seized naturally and simply rhythms and tensions of its use. such an intertice, a resurgence of meaning to a specific point, singular of the daily environment, a point of touch, of gripp, of tension. the line and the fold shape this instant, this connection, by initiating new responses. the visual apparent stiffness of form is troubled by the ergonomic and sensitive reality of use. tight lines marry with plasticity and comfort the curves of the hand, the creases of the skin.
the aluminum foil of 8mm thick is cut flat using the model then folded so that the upper and lower portions of the handle are joined at two structuring points. the wood pattern of 4mm thick she projects at the perpendicular the clutter of the handle, provoking the destructuration of the ensemble. a'cross is an in space creation. A reality between the shape, the material and their become.
