Abbraccio by dale atkinson from uk
designer's own words:
abbraccio attempts to eliminate the visual disparity between the rose and the handle itself. by employing an organic form the handle is able to embrace the transfer between the handle and the rose while maintaining a visual unity. as common finishes for door handles are chrome and brass, traditional silverware with two-tone electroplated finishes were used as reference. this additional visual interest by the use of a two-tone finish could be achieved by electroplating or anodizing (black). the forms could possibly be created by either investment casting and/or injection molding. the handle is removable to access beneath the rose and for easy installation.
