8 points concerning my design
1. this handle is designed to suite users of any height, including those in a wheel chair.
2. the handle is slanted when seen from the front so that it can be used with a hand regardless of whether the user finds it best to use their wrist horizontally or vertically; helpful for those with disability.
3. the handle is also inclined when seen from the side, so that it can be used using an elbow or a foot.
4. the handle is not part of a locking mechanism; it is simply a tool for opening and closing a door; it can be pulled or pushed. (In the model being sent the door is shown to have a magnetic locking mechanism which can be controlled electronically if required).
5. the handle can be used for either left or right hinged doors; the model (photographed) is for a door with hinges on the left. A mirror image would be used for doors hinged on the right.
6. the handle can be made from a variety of materials (metal, wood, plastic) and from combinations of materials; it is suitable for external and internal use.
7. the handle can be tubular so as to house equipment for pattern and voice recognition so enabling selected people to open the door, or possibly activate an automatic door.
8. the handle can be made as large or as small as wanted and will fit to doors of any size; the pattern is scale independent.
