designer's own words:
My pursuit began with interest in fossils, representing values of conservation and eternity. The remains of animals that are exposed in stone in their flat state were the inspiration to translate this phenomenon into industrial techniques, while old furniture’s were the basis for new ones.
Thinking of conservation and sustainability I searched for old dumped broken wooden classic chairs, and found a way to revive them and prolonged the product life.
The production technique is based on decomposition of these old chairs into their components followed by molding marble to models on the wood and reconstructing them in to sitting furniture.
An intriguing graphic language is exposed as result of cutting the wood.
The outcome is a reuse of old chairs into seating furniture, with an historical memory creating contemporary esthetics, while revealing characteristics of previous layers.
This concept can be used in various molded materials and different fossilized product.
