3D pin LED object for Christmas by Sangheon Chung from new zealand
designer's own words:
This object design was inspired by the 3D pin toy. I’m pretty sure that
we’ve seen this toy at some point.
So I wanted to design an object that could use this method to create
unlimited variation of 3D shapes and movements related to Christmas
(Santa, Rudolf, Christmas tree, snowflakes, presents etc...).
Using LEDs on this object also can provide massive enhancements
to this object. Active LEDs will be attached to the length adjustable
rods and wires to shape dynamic forms and movements.
Every each one of LEDs will work as a pixel and create a physical
3D screen.
Production/Manufacturing process should have 3 parts to it.
1. Bottom part of the object- Length adjustable thin rods with LEDs attached. Suitable aluminum casing and LED lettering "OSAKA". LEDs and rods must be coded by the engineer to create forms, colors, and movements.
2.Middle Part of the object- Glass/Clear acrylic plastic chamber connecting the top and bottom part of the object.
3.Top part of the object- Length adjustable thin rods or wires with LEDs attached. Same process with the bottom part of the object but with the lettering of "Merry Christmas". Also aluminum cased.
To make this object better, small LEDs, thin rods and wires are recommended.
Many LEDs = High Resolution = Pleasing to the eyes!!
If the engineer manages to make the LEDs and rods/wires to work with coding. Putting it together will be easy.
Fog effect is optional (Not mandatory).
