jung-hoon lee created the ‘yangban [rain]’ furniture series, in an attempt to express the atmosphere of rainy sceneries, as well as the emotions it evokes. the pieces capture and shape the moment of rain, portraying the appearance of raindrops falling from the end of the roof’s eaves. the first piece is titled ‘yangban[rain]_table’ and the second one ‘yangban[rain]_pagoda’, taking their name after the traditional korean culture.

the body of ‘yangban [rain]_table’ by jung-hoon lee took motifs from the shape of a roofed building. the wide-open top of the table avoids the rain and makes one feel cozy under the roof while enjoying the rainy scenery. the creator also designed the shape in a modern form with accessories to add charming beauty.

‘yangban[rain]_pagoda’ is a piece of furniture that can be used as individual tables, stacked together, and used as decorative shelves. the form makes a reference to stone pagodas in the east. the designer wanted to express the beauty of everyday life through these elements, and to situate them in people’s daily lives.
