for many, the day’s first cup of coffee acts as a mental buffer that lowers the general insanity of existence to a tolerable level. but a mug of joe can only do so much, and in a world seemingly dominated by bad news and despair, the threshold is quickly surpassed. korean designer jang wooseok, in a continuation of his earlier ‘kiss lid’, presents the ‘human lid’; created in collaboration with german paper-craft artist wolfram (aka paperwolf) for café franchise B2B. geometric facets create a genderless mouth, reconciling the bad in the world with a simple kiss. made of polystyrene, the ‘human lid’ is available in 12 and 16oz versions.
