WE SHOWCASE 20 WINNERS FROM A’ DESIGN AWARD AND COMPETITION
Year after year, the A’ Design Award and Competition gives deserved recognition to great design, and 2023 is no different. On April 15, one of the largest international design award platforms announced 1884 Winners from 114 countries in 140 different design disciplines, setting a tremendously high bar for 2024 participants. To recognize and celebrate the remarkable 2023 winners, designboom showcases 20 designs from an event space covering an abandoned quarry to a water droplet inspired chair.

Perfectly covering the abandoned quarry in the shape of a flower bud in plan, the single continuous space holds large audiences of 4500 people and form a splendid interior for the monks and believers to pay respect for Maitreya.
EXPERT JURY JUDGES OVER 140 DESIGN CATEGORIES
The A’ Design Award & Competition facilitates design enthusiasts and aficionados to be awe-struck by the quality of the winner’s designs. Innovators can enter into one of 140 different categories, before the winners are carefully hand picked by the team of established jury members. Categories range from furniture design, decorative items and homeware design, to architecture, building and structure design, interior space and exhibition design, as well as packaging design and lighting project design – to name a few. The myriad of options along with the international jury panel, allows the most niche of designs to be judged fairly and then given the platform to shine.

Inspired by Dvorak’s New World Symphony, the prototype originates from a piece of wood bent by a string in tension. The concert hall is an orchestration of walls, balconies, and acoustic panels, which are developed from the prototype by different scales and tectonics.
