If so, Volkswagen (Norway) has turned this dream into an actual seat by installing an electric motor in its gaming chair, propelling it with a touch of a button. Volkswagen targets office workers who are stuck in their seats for hours. There’s nothing more exciting than having bumper cars in the office, spicing up hustling with a side of fun rolling.

Volkswagen wants its office chair to have a feel of a car (surprise, surprise). The car company has designed it to give office workers the vibe of what it feels like to sit in a Volkswagen van or car without leaving their favorite second home. Instead of going for the typical four wheels of an office chair, Volkswagen goes beyond by adding another wheel for a total of five rolling wheels.

They can drive, honk, and listen to music, even signal the others that the rider slash office worker is about bust the door of the meeting room. It might be obvious that it’s not a real car, but Volkswagen still reminds workers and users that the features of the electric chair can’t be compared with the real electric automobile.

Having a range of up to 12 kilometers means workers can swing back and forth from their desk to the coffee machine and the executives’ rooms without a hassle. If they’re in a hurry, speed up the pace and be a racer since Volkswagen’s office chair can reach a top speed of 20 km/h.

Security fans might long for the office chair since Volkswagen has also installed cameras and 360° sensors, so workers can have a full overview of all threats and disturbances that can sneak up on them.

Office workers can deliver documents

Storage issues? Not a problem for Volkswagen’s office chair since the car company dedicates a cushioned handy storage space at the back of the chair, enough to fit a laptop and piles of annual reports and printed handouts of the meeting presentation. Thanks to the storage, workers also double as couriers, delivering documents from one place to another without needing to walk.

If workers feel like vibing with music, they don’t need to plug their headphones into their smartphones as they can just load up the songs from the built-in entertainment system on the side of the chair. Cue the protagonist’s energy sizzling in a coming-of-age movie.

Put on the sunglasses as the Volkswagen office chair is about to ride. Traffic in the office disperses as workers honk (yes, there’s a honk), and they don’t need to worry about their low-battery phones since they can always charge them with the power source connected to the chair.

It’s still an exhibition model at this point

Volkswagen’s office chair does sound too good to be true, and it looks like the car company confirms it. At the moment, the chair is only an exhibition model, and there’s no news yet as to whether or not the car company will produce it for mass consumption.

On the bright side, it will be available for test drives in different locations, and Volkswagen reminds its audience to keep an eye on its social media channels where they will announce the places people can drive the office chair.
