carpenters workshop presents a solo show by vincent dubourg in its parisian space comprising recent artworks shown in a scenography, essential recreating the artist’s workshop in la creuse. within the preserved surroundings, dubourg — motivated by his mastery of metal material — restores a dialogue between sculpture and design. sourcing influence from the natural world, the artist encapsulates energy through a sophisticated interplay between the whole and empty.

dubourg transforms familiar domestic items, from wardrobes to chairs and ottomans, into art pieces, giving them an immaterial dimension and added soulful quality. trained in metal working techniques and with an innate passion in cabinetmaking, dubourg establishes a union of the two. the paradoxical deconstruction of his art pieces, translates the methodical meaning of his art of construction and craft.
