italian watch company unimatic has teamed up with paris fashion store colette (located at 213 rue saint-honoré) to create the exclusive ‘U1-C’ diving watch. this limited edition time piece takes part in colette’s selected assortment of fall/winter fashion, high-tech, arts, streetwear, beauty… a unique approach combining modernity, originality and a careful attention to quality.

unimatic was founded on simone nunziato and giovanni moro’s passion for vintage and contemporary timepieces, with the desire to bring aspects of these two worlds together. their latest debut is no exception, featuring a sleek finish, practical features and water resistant protection. the ‘U1-C’ features a black stealth dial with classic marker in super-luminova® grey lume. practical elements include the double domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal which provides the best performance in every light condition. each watch includes a solid 316 black pvd coated stainless steel case, screwed-in 2mm thick caseback, 8mm diameter crown together and high quality gaskets, and has been water resistance tested individually to 30 atm=300m=1000f. timing accuracy is guaranteed by the nh35a automatic movement tuned to 21600bph with 41h power reserve and hacking seconds hand. it features a customized bonetto rubber strap signed unimatic x colette, with black pvd coated unimatic signed custom buckle. 

each edition is individually numbered between the lugs, the caseback features a custom unimatic X colette engraving

the history of efforts to use watches underwater and to make watches water resistant, or waterproof goes back to the 17th century. in the 19th century water and dust resistant watches were usually one-off pieces custom made for a particular customer and described as explorer’s watches. early in the 20th century such watches were industrially produced for military and commercial distribution. through chance encounters, travel and discoveries, new products and brands are regularly welcomed at colette, because this is the colette spirit: an inimitable mix and match, modeled after its customers, and bringing people together.
