the lithuania-based company, unicorn, presents their latest electric scooter design, conceived specifically for city-commuters and to facilitate ease of sharing. as the use of scooters within urban environments increases, the team has developed this new project with the intention of providing a quick and easy way of getting around towns and cities. by addressing a number of main design issues found when using personal scooters, unicorn has developed a variety of useful features to optimize this mode of transport.

the unicorn scooter has been developed with an importance placed on function and simplicity. the design includes a raised step at the front, allowing users to transport their groceries or backpack – or even a child. with safety in mind, larger wheels are implemented to increase balance. smart technology is also embraced, as the handlebars incorporate a place to connect your smartphone, with the added bonus of an inductive QI charger to make sure you never run out of battery. in an effort to prevent theft, a GPS system is also integrated within the frame itself, rather than outside, making the scooter difficult to steal.

the team has integrated a huge battery life into the design, providing a range of 80 km range per charge. this battery can also be replaced, meaning that fleet operators can quickly and easily change a depleted battery with a new, fully charged one, saving time and money. the scooters are also built with a powerful 750W motor, affording users to climb steep hills without issues. overall, by combining a number of useful functions, the unicorn scooters provide an ideal and sustainable mode of transport to ride smoothly around the city.
