TSATSAS atelier uncovers WHERE I END AND YOU BEGIN installation

where do things end and where do they begin? are there boundaries within one entirety? 

bag and accessory label TSATSAS addresses the above-mentioned theme in its latest installation WHERE I END AND YOU BEGIN. in every single one of their designs, esther schulze-tsatsas and dimitrios tsatsas, the brains behind the label, explore an object’s boundaries. Their creations, produced using precise patterns, are made up of countless individual pieces which are carefully assembled to create coherent designs. 

the installation WHERE I END AND YOU BEGIN explores the different objects’ boundaries 

shown for the first time during berliner mode salon 2016, the designers of  TSATSAS selected five items from their collection and reinterpreted them in a combination of grey and navy calfskin leather. indeed, iconic items such as FLUKE, cardholder CREAM TYPE 2, clutch bag HAZE and two other bags, LINDEN and LUCID are now featured in the installation. each presents two contrasting shades of high-grade natural leather tanned in south germany and processed to create contemporary designs at a leather craft atelier with a long-standing tradition in offenbach/main.

designers have selected five iconic TSATSAS items, reinterpreting them in grey and navy calfskin leather

in this installation, the color of the leather becomes a medium for highlighting transitions within the bags and accessories. because, to date, all the atelier’s leather designs have been monochrome, this has hidden the fact that the products are made up of different ‘sections’. however, using different colors for the various elements highlights that diversity, rendering the boundaries suddenly visible. Such boundaries are either called for by the design or set by the designers on the basis of aesthetic considerations. 

the installation will be on display at the TSATSAS atelier in frankfurt/main through the end of january 2017.

the exhibit includes clutches, handbags and cardholders exclusive to TSATSAS
