at the 13th edition of designers’ saturday in langenthal, switzerland, a number of designers and products were featured at the exhibition space in the girsberger sitzmöbel building.
comprised of furniture builders bernhard roth, volker schreiber, michael wyss, triplex presented ‘tapatri‘, which consists of a tray top and a collapsible tripod base system and utilizes three wooden rods pinned together at their middle. held together by a wire, the legs can be folded out for the top to snap into place. available in a variety of different colours, the tables come in two sizes for anything from cocktail use to a low couch companion.

‘geh’ stell’ by marchgut at the blickfang exhibition space
product designers christoph march and marek gut of linz-based studio marchgut showcased their take on a beer bench entitled ‘geh stell’. the robust seating utilizes a set of metal leg ends which can be slipped on to any plank of wood to transform an otherwise abandoned floorboard into a quick-fix piece of furniture. the made to order legs allow the users to customize and personalize their bench without compromising on practicality.

about designers’ saturday: since its inception in 1987, the event in langenthal has provided a venue for professionals, designers, and interested consumers to share and explore the source of creative design. integrating all tiers and branches of creating such as entrepreneurs and manufacturers, designers’ saturday aims to be an informal rendezvous for the industry and enable dynamic exchange amongst all participants. the most innovative feature of the 3-day event is the incorporation of several active workplaces to act as venues for the participating exhibitors. the showing designs are put into context in a relevant environment while also providing visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the creating process.
