ARCHITECTURE, FASHION, MUSIC AND SUBCULTURE LINKED TRAVIS BAKER WITH BUSTER + PUNCH

musician, producer, and ex blink 182, travis barker has collaborated with buster + punch, a london-born home fashion label in a home accessories collection. known for working with unexpected materials and solid metals, the collaboration sees door stops, a unique cast bowl, cabinet knobs, a table light, candleholders, jewelry, clothing, and a drum key made to barker’s specifications.

launching on february 23, 2022, the collaboration with the barker has been three years in the making. it began when massimo buster minale, founder of buster + punch, met travis baker when the musician was fitting out his LA music studio. their shared passion for architecture, fashion, music and subculture was the starting point of the collaboration.

THE COLLECTION CELEBRATES THE SKULL, THE DRUM KEYS, AND JEWELRY

travis baker’s collaboration with buster + punch includes a few niche items in the form of drum keys and jewelry, alongside home accessories including a table lamp, candleholder and decorative bowl, all of which are crafted from solid stainless steel or brass. the majority of the range is sand cast, giving it a unique texture and meaning that no two pieces are exactly the same.

as expected from baker — who has more than one skull tattoo emblazoned across his skin — the collection celebrates the skull as a symbol of rebellion, rock’n’roll and heavy metal and this aligns seamlessly with buster + punch who from the outset have been industry disruptors.

‘travis and I have poured our blood, sweat and styles into this collaboration,’ said massimo buster minale, founder and creative director, buster + punch. ‘the range grew from a beautiful sketch travis made of a drum key and ended up as a statement of design today – unexpected, functional, fluid and, most importantly, impossible to pigeonhole. in this way it’s a collection that reflects our outlook on creativity.’

previously, the brand has collaborated with street artists, bike builders and fashion designers. they have long pioneered offering customers everyday product that is extraordinary through an experiential and immersive brand experience of imagery and video that is a refreshing attack on the senses using talents from music and film alongside influencers, dancers and image makers. last year, the brand collaborated with cake electric bike.

‘I’ve been obsessed with skulls forever – from the first time I saw artists like pushead, who put skulls on the misfits and metallica albums, and zero skateboards back in the day,’ said travis baker. ‘I’ve always loved them, they scream rock ’n’ roll, they scream danger and poison. skulls stand against everything, so to present them in a way like this and take it to a new level is special.’
